BOSTON, Aug. 8, 2013  — The Warren Group, New England’s premier collector of public record data on real estate sales, financing and ownership, has added a new building permit database to its robust data suite.

The building permit database covers all of Massachusetts and includes information such as contractors’ name, address and telephone number, estimated valuation of construction work and the type of work being performed, date issued and permit number. Data from Connecticut, Rhode Island, Southern New Hampshire and Southern Maine is expected to be released later this year.

Information abstracted from building permits is available in the form of annual marketing list subscriptions.  Subscribers will receive weekly emails with the latest building permits in Excel format by county.  For larger companies looking to load building permit data into their propriety database, data licensing agreements are available. The data is also being made available to licensing clients for research and/or own use to augment their data files.

“For more than 140 years, our data has empowered industry professionals with information to grow their businesses. The addition of building permit data will enable small businesses, industry leaders and policy makers to continue to make informed decisions,” said Timothy M. Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group. “We’re excited to provide more information to realtors, appraisers, insurance companies, lenders and the construction trade. Plus, it further strengthens our relationships with town building departments in our coverage area.”

The Warren Group offers a range of real estate products, information services and printed publications, including the weekly newspapers Banker & Tradesman and The Commercial Record. The company also presents and organizes trade shows and events for a variety of industries, including bankers, mortgage brokers, credit unions and lawyers. Based in Boston, the company was established in 1872 and is now in its fourth generation of family ownership and management.
