Position Title: Marketing & Audience Development Intern
Reports to: John Bottini, Director of Data Solutions
Pay: Unpaid Internship.
Requirements: Academic credit required. Minimum commitment of 16 hours per week.

Timeframe:
Winter: January to May
Duration: To be determined based on academic credit criteria.
Hours: Part time. To be determined based on academic credit criteria, coursework and department scheduling. Minimum commitment of 16 hours per week.

Minimum Requirements: Intern must be enrolled at time of internship at an institution of higher learning that has an established internship program. Additionally, must be a student with a major or course concentration appropriate to facilitating the goals and needs of our data solutions department (i.e., business, marketing, communications, etc.), and should have completed, at minimum, basic introductory course work in that academic major or concentration. Applicants must have operational understanding of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook; an understanding of social media; excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to work independently and efficiently on concurrent projects: and be able to work collaboratively with the data solutions team.

Core Competencies: Ideal candidate should be web-savvy, a proficient writer, creative thinker, well organized, have a strong work ethic, be adaptable to change, and have good time-management skills in order to meet stringent deadlines. Interest or experience in real estate a plus.

Primary Functions / Principle Duties: The goals and objectives of your internship with The Warren Group will be to assist with the research, management, development, and implementation of the data solution departments’ initiatives. You will have the opportunity to work with us in helping to brand, market and grow our data products and subscriptions.

Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, Data Solutions and working with the data solutions team at The Warren Group, you will learn the fundamentals of managing a data sales and newspaper subscription operation, including market research, marketing strategies, advertising and branding, client retention strategies, and result-driven analyses. You will be able to observe how different departments within the company inter-relate and, schedule permitting, you may attend some departmental meetings. In addition to working with the Data Solutions Director, you will also work closely with the Data Solutions team and the marketing department.

Overall, your internship at The Warren Group is designed to provide you with hands-on experience and valuable training relevant to your interest in exploring business sales and marketing.

You will have the opportunity to work on an array of initiatives during your internship at The Warren Group, by performing the following primary functions and principle duties (not inclusive):
• Research business opportunities, make recommendations and discuss next steps with team
• Assist in development of direct mail and email campaigns and preparing sales collateral
• Assist in the development of social media campaigns
• Assist in updating product descriptions on Website
• Use metrics to track and report audience engagement activity and assist in generating sales and marketing initiatives
• Follow up with conference attendees and email/mail campaigns by working closely with marketing team
• Assist in building and managing subscription and prospect lead/customer lists
• Research and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials.
• May occasionally travel to off-site locations, contingent on written permission from school
• Assist Director of Data Solutions with various related projects

Working Conditions: Work location will be at The Warren Group offices located at2 Corporation Way, Suite 250, Peabody MA 01960. Intern working hours will be within the normal operating hours of The Warren Group – Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excepting company holidays. With written authorization from academic internship supervisor, this schedule may occasionally vary to accommodate off-site and/or off-hour assignments. Ideally, this position will work a minimum of 16 hours per week. Duration and exact schedule will be determined when internship is confirmed.
