Boston, Oct. 15 2014– The Warren Group appointed Cassidy Murphy as editorial director of its flagship publications, Banker & Tradesman and The Commercial Record. Murphy will also serve as the editorial liaison for the company’s custom financial, real estate and banking publications.

Cassidy MuprhyMurphy brings several years of experience in journalism and newsroom management. Prior to joining The Warren Group in 2009 as the associate editor of custom publications, she was a general assignment reporter at the Belmont Citizen-Herald in Belmont, Mass., and the Berkeley Daily Planet in Berkeley, Calif.

“Cassie joined us five years ago and has steadily progressed to new levels of responsibility through her dedicated effort. We are pleased to promote her now to the top editorial position at The Warren Group,” said Timothy M. Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group. “Her proven strengths in editorial management as well as her achievements as a journalist allow her to bring a seasoned perspective and holistic approach to the position.

While at the Citizen-Herald, Murphy received two New England Press Association awards for her reporting on the effect of the economic downturn on the town of Belmont, and an investigation into the level of diversity present in the town’s elected Town Meeting members. She is a graduate of The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York.
